About VJL Gallery
Vicki-Jo Lucky – Gallerist
Vicki-Jo moved from the northeast to Daytona Beach in 1986.
She worked in a salon called Headlines in downtown Daytona Beach. She quickly became known in the community as an outstanding hair colorist.
Maintaining her successful career, she opened her first business in 2003. She also always had a passion for art.
She incorporated an art Gallery into her business in 2010 supporting local artists. In 2016 she decided to move her business back to downtown Daytona Beach and opened VJL Gallery on Beach St.
As the Gallery has grown, she is now representing not only local artists, but artists from different parts of the country. Her passion and her vision have brought culture and fine art to the community that she believes in.
Donna Steenland – Curator
Donna was born in Kokomo, Indiana. At the age of two, her mother was homesick for her country and the family moved to Germany. That is where Donna was first introduced to wonderful museums and art galleries in the 60s.
Her family moved back to the US to where she resides in central Florida. As a young adult, her vocation led her to travel Europe, the US, and the Caribbean, opening up new views of art in the world. Now married to the artist Pete Steenland, her life has been immersed in the arts. She and Pete have a shared background in marine biology and the love of nature and the outdoors. They are grateful for many daily opportunities to make a difference in the world.
